Intensive Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
